If you are getting this error message “Unable to get printer status (forbidden)” you may be able to fix this easily.
- Open Printer Setup Utility, located in Applications/Utilities.Unable to get printer status (forbidden)
- Go to the “Printer Setup Utility” menu at the top of the screen and select “Reset Printing System”
- Go to the “Printer Setup Utility” menu at the top of the screen and select “Reset Printing System”
This solution comes from a MacFixIt tutorial “Resolving common printer problems” which deserves a bookmark, in my opinion.
