April 30, 2008

The new line of iMacs is interesting in itself, but what’s Apple really up to? Might it be creating a true Mac gaming machine? Ok, I’m a day or so late, but hey, I’ve been busy! Never mind, the new iMacs are out. They don’t look any different, but the bang-for-buck measure has certainly gone up. The 20″ is available with 2.4 or 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the 24″ standard is a 2.8 GHz screamer that [...]

GoLive is gone!

April 30, 2008

Adobe will no longer develop or support GoLive. The acquisition of Macromedia gave Adobe Dreamweaver, and Adobe has consolidated GoLive out of the picture. I started building Websites when the app was called GoLive CyberStudio, and found it a great, easy-to-use product. I still prefer elements of the interface to Dreamweaver’s, but when Dreamweaver was [...]

Speeding up Safari…

April 22, 2008

MacFixIt posted some very good info to help speed Safari, reduce the dreaded SPOD (spinning pinwheel of death) and generally improve performance. Read the full article here. Third-party add-ons can slow Safari launch time significantly. I can’t live without SAFT, personally, and I use SafariSIA and a few others. Safari launches slowly on my desktop. [...]
