Apple may not be called Apple Computer any more, but their personal computer business is outpacing the industry average. February sales show Apple with a 14% unit share, and 25% dollar share of US-based retail sales of personal computers.

That’s a 60% unit growth and 67% revenue growth over last year. Overall, US PC retail shipments grew 9%, with a 5% revenue bump.

Apple notebooks rose 64% in units and 67% in revenues, and Pacific Crest Securities Anoyst Andy Hargreaves said:

MacBook Air appears to be an additive to total sales, rather than replacing Macbook Pro sales. We believe a new set of corporate customers make up a meaningful portion of MacBook Air buyers.

Overall, US retail sales combined for a 20% increase in notebook shipments, with an 11% increase in revenues.
