Sleep your monitor from the keyboard

If you have one or more displays, and want to sleep them immediately, Shift-Control-Eject will do it. This is particularly useful on iMacs, as screen dimming to black isn’t possible as it is on MacBooks.

This does not work on some non-Apple keyboards. There is a simple app called Sleep Display that will do the trick if your keyboard is uncooperative.
