Macworld Magazine has an article, available on their Web site, citing a new report from Forrester, a market research company.
Forester has taken Apple’s past 8 years and projected another 5 years into the future, predicting that “Apple will offer eight key products and services to connect PCs and digital content to the TV-Stereo infrastructure in consumer’s homes. The strategy will include launching new products and re-engineering some existing services”.
Network enabled digital picture frames, clock radios streaming images and music, home servers, universal remotes and more are predicted.
Forrester doesn’t think Apple will become a content producer, a pure hardware company, a software company or an enterprise IT company. The report indicates Apple will blend these business models into a unique consumer-oriented company exerting a very large influence on the public, continuing the success of the iTunes Music Store, the iPod and the iPhone.
