Which is Better, Mac or PC? Ask Microsoft!

in Macintosh Information

Macworld has an article dated June 11 by Aayjsh Arya titled Microsoft Bing helps you choose between Mac and PC.

All the Microsoft adds are blasting the word that a Mac is expensive, PCs are cheaper. Everyone from babys to Seinfeld are giving us that message.

It’s not true, but that doesn’t stop the adds. Curiously, if you ask if you ought to buy a Mac or PC on Bing, Microsoft’s new Search Engine, and you get a more honest answer… Get a Mac!

At least that is what you see on the first page of results.

Is Bing a good replacement for Google, or even a good secondary search engine? I’m not sure. It isn’t grabbing me, but I’m keeping an open mind.

What’s this crap about Mac’s being cheaper than PC’s? Or a preferred buy? Prove it!

OK, using the links on Bing, I suggest the following: a conversation at WiseGeek: http://www.wisegeek.com/should-i-buy-a-mac-or-a-pc.htm

A financial evaluation, grant a bit dated, at: http://www.cio.com/article/127050/Eight_Financial_Reasons_Why_You_Should_Use_Mac_OS

There are heaps more articles written by unbiased sources, including PC World writers who used PCs for years and fell in love with Macs after using them for a story. I’m happy to provide links on request.

And, if you love PCs, good for you. It’s just a tool, like a hammer or a drill, if considerably more capable. I like a Vaughn hammer, others may like Stanley. So what. They both drive nails. There are plenty of reasons to choose Macs, and plenty to choose PCs. The best choices are made by individuals with knowledge of both.
