Lockdown is a free (donation requested) app that will allow customization of detection features that use Mac portable’s motion-sensors, external device sensors, MagSafe sensors and more “to ensure that not even the slightest tap goes unnoticed”.
Once triggered, a loud alarm sounds, and the system cannot be muted or put to sleep. Lockdown has the ability to use the built-in iSight camera to take a photo of the offender and email it to the registered email address.
A password or your Apple Remote can arm and disarm the app. Setup is easy. This app can provide some security if you have to step away from your Mac laptop, providing that it is running Leopard. It will help if your Mac has an iSight camera, too.
If anyone reading this tries it out, please leave a comment with your experiences.
